Crop spraying is the application of insecticides, pesticides, fungicides, and other preventative treatments to crops. Previously known as ‘crop dusting,’ the process is used to cover large areas of crops and protect them from local bugs and pests. Traditionally, the process was carried out by planes, which spread the pesticide over the crops from a safe distance. Modern ᴍᴇᴛʜods include using quad bikes, boom sprayers, and even drones to more precisely disperse the treatment without affecting nearby homes or wildlife.

Crop spraying is used as part of an agricultural service to protect crops from local pets and bugs, which are likely to ᴅᴀᴍᴀɢᴇ, eat, and infest crops if left untreated. Crop spraying can provide accurate pesticide or fertilizer application while also being a cost-effective way to prevent product waste. Pest protection varies according to climate, geological location, and overall environment. Crop spraying is used by farming services to prevent pest and ᴅɪsᴇᴀsᴇ infestations. Farmers can prevent the growth and spread of weed species and ᴅɪsᴇᴀsᴇs that can afflict crops, as well as harmful bugs and insects, by using crop protection products such as herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides.

The location of the farm will influence the kind of agricultural services required, including crop protection products. Farmers must understand how and why individual pesticides work, as well as which crop spraying chemical is most appropriate, in order to determine the types of products required to maintain pest and ss levels. The term “modes of action” refers to how some products work and how they relate to chemical classification. Understanding these can allow you to use crop protection more effectively; nevertheless, if you are unsure of the types of crop spraying you require, it is critical to consult with an agricultural service provider.

Our crop spraying fleer
As part of our agricultural service offering, AWSM Farming operates some crop spraying machinery. All of our machinery is well-maintained, and we can provide operations personnel to help you improve your farming efficiency. The self-propelled Bateman RB35 features a 4000-liter tank and boom variants ranging from 12 to 28 meters. The machinery is outfitted with either flotation tires or row crop wheels, which may be adjusted to suit the type of crop and the current ground conditions. Our machine is outfitted with cutting-edge GPS guidance technology, which aids in vehicle steering and coordination. Auto boom height sensors enable us to apply and distribute the product with extreme precision and efficiency.

Our second machine for corp spraying agricultural services is a secondary Trailed 24m 4000-liter sprayer. This sprayer is available as a backup during busy periods, allowing us to meet key timings of product application when our client’s time is limited. We offer optional extra services such as quad bike spraying, nap sack spraying, and a 1200 liter boom-less sprayer capable of spraying at 6 meters wide for harder-to-reach areas of your fields and arms. These agricultural services are specifically developed to make it easier and more accessible to apply to steep hills, small paddocks, and moorland.

Every year, all of our crop spraying machines are independently NSTS tested and certified. All operatives are qualified and experienced AWSM Farming representatives. Our larger water tanks are widely available, as is the ability to provide clients with a water bowser, ensuring that we can provide our clients with a water supply to the sprayer.
